Overview

Fisch is Roblox's premier open-world fishing adventure with 400,000+ fish variations, weekly updates, and some of the hardest apex catches in the game. The May 2026 LIVYATAN update introduced the Ancient Isle Livyatan Hunt alongside the existing Cultist Lair Leviathan system — two completely different endgame challenges that share a name but not mechanics.

This wiki consolidates every Leviathan-type encounter in one place: the new server-wide Livyatan at Ancient Isle, the summonable Leviathan and Profane Leviathan in The Sanctum, plus Sea Leviathan, Skeletal Leviathan, and Lucid Leviathan variants.

Whether you are farming Cathulid mutations for pedestal sacrifices, chasing the Restless One questline, or waiting for a Livyatan event notification, you will find step-by-step unlock paths, spawn conditions, gear recommendations, and reeling strategies here.

Ancient Isle Livyatan Hunt

The Livyatan is a massive apex predator introduced in the May 2026 update. It combines whale and shark traits, appears as a black pool with sharp white teeth, and is one of the most profitable random server events in Fisch.

How to Trigger a Livyatan

  1. 1 Wait for the global event notification in chat — Livyatan Hunts spawn naturally and cannot be forced with totems or codes.
  2. 2 Farm Megalodons or Mosasaurus on Ancient Isle with friends to increase spawn probability on your server.
  3. 3 Avoid regular fishing on Ancient Isle outside of apex events — it angers the Livyatan and may cause it to attack your boat.
  4. 4 Head to Ancient Isle POI at coordinates (5833, 125, 401) when the event starts and look for the distinctive black pool.

Pro Tips

  • Use rods with high Resilience and Luck: Serraphic, No Life, Elemental, or Oniflarx are community favorites.
  • Enchant with Blessed, Sea Overlord, Swift, or Sovereign Relic for better odds.
  • Approach the pool gently — the Livyatan attacks most boats and vehicles nearby.
  • Coordinate with friends to farm Megalodons/Mosasaurus before the event if your server hasn't spawned one.

Cultist Lair Unlock Guide

The Cultist Lair is a multi-layered underground dungeon on Terrapin Island. It is the only place to summon Leviathan Hunts and catch Leviathan, Profane Leviathan, and Lucid Leviathan. Unlocking it is a multi-step journey.

Sub-Locations

Cultist Lair

Entry area with fishing spots, Cultist NPCs, and Obelisks.

Hall of Whispers

Second layer — Cathulid/Cathulith abundances and more quests.

Passage of Oaths

Third layer — advanced fishing and NPC progression.

The Sanctum

Final chamber with the Leviathan Hunt pool and Central Gate.

Unlock Steps

  1. 1

Step 1: Get the Sea Traveller Note

Catch a Sea Turtle (Mythical) on Terrapin Island during daytime and give it to the Sea Traveller NPC on Terrapin Island or Moosewood Island.

  2. 2

Step 2: Unlock the Cultist Lair Entrance

Go to Terrapin Hideaway during a Foggy Night. Interact with the green-outlined lever to permanently unlock the entrance at coordinates ~0, 150, 2000 on Terrapin Island.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Progress Through Sub-Locations

Navigate Cultist Lair → Hall of Whispers → Passage of Oaths. Complete NPC quests and avoid guards to unlock elevator doors between each layer.

  4. 4

Step 4: Craft the Dreamer's Amulet

Collect 5 Amulet Fragments from NPCs Sythra, Maelira, Kareth, Varn, and Eldran. Interact with the Amulet NPC in The Sanctum to craft it.

  5. 5

Step 5: Open the Central Gate

Equip the Dreamer's Amulet and interact with the Central Gate in The Sanctum to access the Leviathan Hunt pool.

Dreamer's Amulet

The Dreamer's Amulet is required to open the Central Gate in The Sanctum. Without it, you cannot access the Leviathan Hunt pool.

Amulet Fragments

Collect one fragment from each of these NPCs by completing their quests throughout the Cultist Lair:

NPC Area
Sythra Cultist Lair
Maelira Hall of Whispers
Kareth Passage of Oaths
Varn Cultist Lair
Eldran The Sanctum

Crafting

Once you have all 5 fragments, interact with the Amulet NPC at the end of the elevator hall in The Sanctum. You will receive the Dreamer's Amulet. Equip it and interact with the Central Gate to enter the hunt area.

Sacrifice Fish for Leviathan Hunt

To summon a Leviathan Hunt in The Sanctum, place these 5 specific Cathulid/Cathulith mutated fish on the pedestals surrounding the pool. Each fish has unique spawn conditions and mutation requirements.

Placed fish are consumed when the hunt begins. You must re-catch all five to summon again.

Sanctum Leviathan Hunt

After placing all 5 sacrifice fish on the pedestals, a Leviathan Hunt begins in The Sanctum pool. The event lasts 20 minutes or ends when a Leviathan is caught. Only one Leviathan Hunt can be active globally at a time.

Other Fish During the Hunt

8 additional fish spawn in The Sanctum pool during Leviathan Hunts, including Cave Loach, Spiny Hatchetfish, Ozark Cavefish, Swampfish, Scaly Dragonfish, Stoplight Loosejaw, and Cave Angel Fish — each with specific weather/time preferences.

Hunt Focus Rods

Certain rods have Hunt Focus for Leviathan Hunts, dramatically improving your catch rate. Rod Of The Forgotten Fang is the community-recommended choice.

Profane Leviathan

Every time you summon a Leviathan Hunt, there is a 10% chance it becomes a Profane Leviathan Hunt instead. The Profane Leviathan is a Secret rarity fish — rarer and harder than the standard Exotic Leviathan.

Key Differences

  • Whip ability activates from 30% reeling progress (vs 50% for standard Leviathan)
  • 20% whip chance every 4 seconds, decreasing by 2% per attack down to 10%
  • Shrinks Control bar by 70% for 5 seconds (vs 60% for 3 seconds)
  • Can whip up to 4 times per catch attempt
  • Average value ~47,619 C$ — higher than standard Leviathan

Reeling Mechanics & Whip Ability

Leviathan-class fish impose severe Progress Speed penalties (-88% to -90%) and unique combat mechanics during the reeling minigame. Understanding these abilities is the difference between a catch and a lost fish.

Leviathan Whip Ability

  • Standard Leviathan: 15% chance every 4s above 50% progress. Reduces 35% of current progress. Shrinks Control bar 60% for 3 seconds. Up to 3 activations.
  • Profane Leviathan: 20% chance every 4s above 30% progress. Same 35% progress reduction. Shrinks Control bar 70% for 5 seconds. Up to 4 activations.

Reeling Strategy

  • Prioritize Resilience on your rod to handle unpredictable block movement at high penalties.
  • Stay calm after a Whip — progress loss is percentage-based, so recovery is possible with patience.
  • Do not use Sundial Totem on Leviathan Hunts — the event cannot be triggered or sped up with totems.
  • For Livyatan, Luck enchantments help the apex fish bite instead of random ocean fish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I spawn the Leviathan in Fisch?
Unlock the Cultist Lair on Terrapin Island, craft the Dreamer's Amulet from 5 NPC fragments, enter The Sanctum, and place Solarblaze Cathulid, Nova Cathulith, Rainbow Cluster Cathulid, Aurora Cathulith, and Purified Cathulid or Cathulith on the five pedestals. The Leviathan Hunt begins automatically.
Where does the Livyatan spawn?
The Livyatan appears around Ancient Isle during a server event. Head to coordinates (5833, 125, 401) and look for a black pool with sharp teeth. Farm Megalodons or Mosasaurus on the same island to increase spawn chance.
What is the difference between Leviathan and Profane Leviathan?
Profane Leviathan is Secret rarity with a stronger Whip ability, higher average value (~47,619 C$), and only a 10% chance to appear when you summon a Leviathan Hunt.
Can I catch Leviathan more than once?
Yes, but each summon consumes your 5 sacrifice fish. You must re-farm all Cathulid/Cathulith mutations and place them again for every hunt.
What rod should I use for Livyatan?
Use a rod with high Resilience and Luck such as Serraphic, No Life, Elemental, or Oniflarx. Enchant with Blessed, Sea Overlord, or Swift. Use Shark Head bait during daytime at Ancient Isle.
What is a Lucid Leviathan?
Lucid Leviathan is a quest variant caught during the same Sanctum Leviathan Hunt. It is required for the Restless One questline and Eidolon Rod progression. Squad up so multiple players can hook the Leviathan simultaneously.
